The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) has ordered one of its licensed operators to cease advertising sponsorship for an online television program featuring scantily clad women.
Atty. Jeremy Luglug, PAGCOR’s Assistant Vice President for the Electronic Gaming and Licensing Department, stated that the directive followed concerns raised by an online podcast regarding the sponsorship. He affirmed, “We will not condone any advertising support from our licensees for a show that is degrading and focuses heavily on sexual content.”
Luglug also addressed accusations made in the podcast, clarifying that the licensee does not own the controversial program and is a Filipino company, contrary to claims that it is a foreign entity.
In addition to these advertising issues, Luglug dismissed allegations suggesting that youth gambling addiction is increasing as a result of legal gaming operations. He stressed that all PAGCOR-licensed platforms adhere to strict Know Your Customer (KYC) regulations, ensuring that only individuals aged 21 and over can access gaming services. He added that e-wallet providers implement similar age verification measures. PAGCOR philippine amusement and gaming corporation

Nevertheless, Luglug recognized that minors could still access unregulated and illegal gambling websites that fall outside PAGCOR’s jurisdiction. He encouraged parents to closely monitor their children’s internet activity to prevent underage participation in online gambling.
This decision is part of PAGCOR’s ongoing efforts to uphold regulatory standards, which also includes a recent alert about a fraudulent website masquerading as the agency to issue counterfeit licenses. PAGCOR philippine amusement and gaming corporation
