This poll was conducted between February 21 and March 1, 2025, and surveyed 5,039 Brazilians aged 16 and older across all regions in a stratified random sample, representing over 170 million people.

Key findings include:
Strong Support for Legalization: A significant majority (60%) of Brazilians back the legalization of gambling, 34% oppose, and 26% expressed interest in participating in gambling activities.
Economic Impact: Supporters anticipate higher tax revenue (58%), job creation (44%), while 36% see no effect.
Strong Backing for Stricter Rules: 62% support mandatory fairness checks for slot machines, establishing strict money laundering rules (82%), and debt prevention for gamblers(77%).

The survey employed computer-assisted telephone interviews (CATI) with a 95% confidence level and a margin of error of +/- 2%. The sample underwent stratification to ensure representation across gender, age, education, and region based on 2022 IBGE data.
The next steps involve the Senate Initiative PLS 2234/2022, which proposes regulating and taxing gambling, advancing for discussion. Proposed regulations include limiting the number of licenses and locations, and measures to prevent addiction and money laundering.
