Riot Games, in collaboration with Aftermath Ventures, will launch ‘Legends Ascend South Asia’, a new online League of Legends tournament made to boost competitive gaming in the region. The event starts on April 27 and will continue for four months with a total prize pool of ₹10 lakh.
The tournament includes open qualifiers, a round-robin league stage, and double-elimination playoffs. Teams will advance to the League of Legends Championship Pacific (LCQ) Wildcard Playoffs, then to international competition, eventually earning a promotion.

Arun Rajappa, Country Manager for India & South Asia at Riot Games, said. “This initiative highlights the rising interest in League of Legends in South Asia. The goal is to empower players and build a strong competitive ecosystem in the region.”
The competition welcomes players from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bhutan, and the Maldives. Riot Games has tailored the tournament to suit the region’s growing League of Legends player base, promising top-tier matches and intense showdowns. Registration for the first open qualifier is now available.
