Scientific Games and Florida Lottery Extend their Partnership

Scientific Games has extended its partnership with the Florida Lottery for an additional three years under the supplier’s Enhanced Partnership Program. This extension builds upon their longstanding collaboration that began in 1988. Throughout this partnership, Scientific Games has served as the sole supplier of scratch card games for the Florida Lottery since its inception. Over the course of their 37-year relationship, annual Florida Lottery Scratch-Off sales have grown significantly, increasing from $584 million to over $6 billion, with Scientific Games becoming a full partner in 1997.

As part of the ongoing partnership, the Florida Lottery benefits from a variety of services provided by Scientific Games. These include analytic services, portfolio management, logistic optimization, game planning, and licensed brand technology services. Importantly, the profits generated through these games are reinvested into Florida’s public schools, colleges, and universities, as well as supporting the Bright Futures Scholarship Program.

John F. Davis, Florida Lottery Secretary, commented on this new development, stating, “Our mission is to maximise revenues for the enhancement of public education in Florida, which have totalled more than $48 billion thus far. Since 1997, we’ve helped send more than one million Florida students to college on a Bright Futures Scholarship. By extending our Scratch-Off games partnership with Scientific Games, we will continue to put our students’ dreams of higher education within reach.”

John Schulz, President of Americas and Global Instant Products for Scientific Games, also shared his thoughts on the extension, saying, “The Florida Lottery’s partnership and collaboration with Scientific Games has resulted in Scratch-Off performance that is consistently among the best in the world. We’re very proud that our work together has continually improved instant game profits to benefit education in Florida.”

Additionally, it is noteworthy that earlier this month, Scientific Games secured re-certification for Responsible Gaming from the World Lottery Association. The company has been active in the lottery sector, as there are rumors of a joint bid for the Italian lottery with Flutter. Recently, Scientific Games also launched self-service terminals at Iowa Lottery retailers and inked a new 10-year supplier contract with the New Mexico Lottery in February. In another development, theLotter entered the Florida state market in July 2024 to provide online lottery ticket orders.
